Rinks

THE LEAD

1.      Place the mat.

2.      Deliver the jack and make sure it is centred.

3.      Deliver the first bowl.

4.       If your team loses an end, collect the bowls using the ‘collector’.

THE SECOND

1. ** Update the scoreboard on completion of ends at same end as the scoreboard.

THE THIRD

1.      When the skip is bowling, advise them where to ‘route’ their bowls, where to place them in or around the head, and how to correct subsequent attempts.

2.      When the skip is bowling, mark their ‘touchers’ with chalk or a suitable spray.

3.      When the skip is bowling, if they knock the jack and/or any ‘touchers’ into the ditch, place markers on the face/top of the bank to indicate where in the ditch they are situated (WHITE = The jack, YELLOW = Home Team’s nearest bowl, RED = Away Team’s nearest bowl).

4.      Measure any and all disputed shots.

5.      Tell the skip the number of shots scored for or against their team as each end is completed.

THE SKIP

1.      Advise fellow team members where to ‘route’ their bowls, where to ‘place’ them in or around the head, and how to correct subsequent attempts.

2.      Decide all disputed points with the opposing skip.

3.      Be responsible for the score card while play is in progress.

4.      Compare the score card with that of the opposing skip.

5.      Mark ‘touchers’ with chalk or a suitable spray.

6.      If a team member knocks the jack and/or any ‘touchers’ into the ditch, place markers on the face/top of the bank to indicate where in the ditch they are situated (WHITE = The jack, YELLOW = Home Team’s nearest bowl, RED = Away Team’s nearest bowl).

7.      ** Update the scoreboard on completion of ends at same end as the scoreboard.
